Post bariatric procedure

Nov 18, 2010 @ 08:29 PM — by Alfonso Gonzalez Cepeda MD

Currently in post bariatric patients, or massive weight loss, there is much redundant skin. In terms of arms, we are making a very safe procedure with less scarring sequelae. We are avoiding the scar on the anterior longitudinal inner arm for the resection of excess skin. Instead of resecting the skin along the arm and visible scars on it, we make an incision in the axillary region, with spectacular results and a lower incidence of complications. We make a transversal resection 10-cm below of the fold of the armpit to the inside of the arm and another at 8 cm of the lateral chest, we make a deep and superficial liposuction in the arm level and lateral face of the thorax, which flaps can slide to the axillary line, where the two flaps get together with several points to the deep fascia of the axilla, leaving scars hidden in the axillary fold, which is revolutionizing the procedure, because the longitudinal scars in the arm are highly visible, not being so in the axillary fold.

New technique in blepharoplasty

Nov 17, 2010 @ 10:02 PM — by Alfonso Gonzalez Cepeda MD

Now it is possible to avoid ectropion, or at least minimize this complication, so common in blepharoplasty. A new surgical technique, called blepharoplasty for resection of the fat pockets of the lower eyelids, which is done through a transconjunctival approach, and that, avoid external scar. This coupled with a fixation of the external canthus, plus a simple procedure called blepharoplasty by pinching, prevent extropion or scleral show, very common complication in this procedure.

We are proud to introduce this procedure as a new technique in blepharoplasty in Cancun, Mexico.
